These terms apply to all courier or delivery services provided by Messageries Speedo Ltd. ("Speedo"). By placing an order, you accept these terms.
1. Service tiers
Speedo offers six tiers: SPECIAL (24/7), DIRECT (non-stop, anytime), URGENT (90 min max, Montreal region), REGULAR (180 min max, 8 AM–5 PM Mon–Fri), AM/PM (same-day or next-day depending on call time), and PALLETS (same-day or next-day). Delivery windows start at pickup and are subject to traffic and weather conditions.
2. Pricing
Rates vary by service tier, distance, weight, and volume. A detailed quote is provided on request; account customers use the agreed rate schedule.
3. Fuel surcharge and bike exemption
A fuel surcharge has been applied to road shipments since 2003. It is reviewed on the first Monday of each month based on data from the Régie de l'énergie du Québec. Shipments delivered by our bike couriers are never subject to this surcharge.
4. Payment methods
Accepted: Visa · MasterCard · American Express. Account customers: weekly or monthly billing, online, by fax, or by mail. Payment due within 30 days of billing unless otherwise agreed.
5. Liability
Speedo exercises reasonable care in handling your shipments. Our maximum liability for loss or damage is limited to the declared value of the contents, up to CAD $100 per shipment, unless additional insurance has been expressly purchased and billed.
We are not liable for delays caused by: exceptional weather, force majeure, incomplete or incorrect addresses, or recipient unavailability at delivery.
6. Excluded items
Excluded from transport: hazardous materials, illegal goods, negotiable securities, cash, uninsured jewelry, perishables without prior arrangement, fragile items not packed to our specifications. Full list available on request.
7. Proof of delivery
Every shipment is confirmed via your customer account. A signature may be required at destination depending on the package's nature.
8. Cancellation
An order may be cancelled free of charge before pickup. After pickup, cancellation will be billed at the rate of the service rendered.
9. Claims
Any claim for loss or damage must be submitted in writing within 5 business days following delivery, to info@messageriespeedo.ca.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and Canada. Any dispute will be brought before the courts of the judicial district of Longueuil.
11. Changes
Speedo reserves the right to amend these terms at any time. Changes take effect upon publication on the site.
